Debtco One Ltd

Debtco One Ltd is a debt collection agency based in Loughborough. The business has been established since 1974. It has been wholly owned and managed by Ann White since 2002.

Debtco One had been working with Precept for a number of months on the Precept Support Programme. As a result of reviewing the business, Ann decided to restructure and to focus on a major new business campaign.

To do this, she transferred to the Optimum Performance programme at the end of September 2007.

With Precept’s help, she identified a number of key customer sectors and approached specific organisations, using a mixture of direct mail and telemarketing. The sales campaigns were created and managed by Precept, who also assisted with the implementation.

The responsibilities were shared as follows.
  • Precept assisted the development of a new website and conducted a Pay-per–click campaign to generate new enquiries.
  • Debtco identified the key target sectors, with some assistance from Precept.
  • Precept then researched those sectors, and sourced suitable mailing lists.
  • The sales letters were written by Precept, and Debtco One produced and mailed them.
  • Precept followed up sample numbers of the letters in order to judge their effectiveness and to increase the enquiry level.
  • Once the enquiries were received, Debtco One converted them into business.
  • Precept also followed up any enquiries that weren’t initially converted in order to establish why, and to allow refinement of the offers to increase future conversion rates.
  • As an ongoing process, Precept continue to contact all new clients after one month to ensure they are satisfied with the service received.
By the end of April 2008, business had increased by 35% and a number of significant and ongoing new clients had been won.

According to Ann “Not only is the business growing incredibly quickly, but I now feel really positive about it. Taking on Precept is the best thing I have done.”
